Another unfortunate example why on-site or online TABC certification is incredibly important

Although it’s unclear whether this tragedy involves local establishments and TABC certification related issues, this is yet another unfortunate example of what your customers can do after they leave your bar or restaurant under the influence of alcohol.

South by Southwest is an internationally-known music, film, and interactive festival in Austin, Texas that draws about 200,000 attendees and has a hugely positive impact on the local economy. This incredible event came to an unfortunate end this year when a drunk 21-year-old named Rashad Owens purposely slammed his car through a packed crowd of people, killing 4 and injuring more than 20. Owens was fleeing police at the time.
Why did he do this, and would this have happened if he weren’t intoxicated? Who knows, but it’s a clear reminder of the insane things people do when they’re drunk and therefore a reminder for how important it is to take an on-site or online TABC certification course and do your job responsibly. We can’t stop reckless people from doing reckless things, but we can and should do everything we can to minimize tragedies like these.
TABC On The Fly is an official, state-approved provider of on-site and online TABC certification.
