Seller-servers busted for breaking on-site and online TABC certification laws
March 7, 2014
More seller-servers were busted in mid-February for breaking on-site and online TABC certification laws in Hidalgo County, TX.
TABC agents hit up Hidalgo County in a sting operation, putting numerous establishments to the test to see if they were selling alcohol to minors. A total of four establishments failed the sting, resulting in the seller-server being arrested at each location.
One of the seller-servers didn’t even ask the minor for their ID, while the other three did but sold him alcohol anyway.
There’s nothing difficult about checking IDs. A valid ID must:
- Appear to be valid (Not expired, no obvious signs of alteration or forgery)
- Be issued by a government agency
- Include a physical description and picture consistent with the customer’s appearance
- Show a date of birth that is 21 years or more
TABC On The Fly is a state-approved provider of on-site and online TABC certification.
